High-quality school feeding begins with decisions that make the system stronger, more modern, and more accessible. These priorities were at the center of the latest meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council on School Feeding, held on April 10 at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting brought together representatives of relevant ministries, government agencies, and partner organizations.
One of the key topics was the establishment of a School Feeding Center on the basis of the school feeding unit within the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. Participants noted that such a center would help bring together the efforts of different stakeholders, improve coordination, and support the introduction of modern approaches to organizing school meals.
The meeting also addressed the development of a national school feeding logo for Tajikistan. Participants reviewed the proposed design options. Particular attention was given to ensuring the symbol is clear, recognizable, and aligned with the country’s identity and the concept of healthy eating for children. It was noted that the logo will undergo formal approval.
In closing, participants highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and joint efforts. Coordinated action among government agencies and partner organizations remains key to progressively improving the quality, safety, and sustainability of school feeding in Tajikistan.
