International expert Daniel Balaban evaluates school meals organization in Russia

In May, Moscow will host a conference with the BRICS countries representatives on school meals subject. Our Institute's team takes an active part in its preparation. One of the stages of this preparation was the invitation to Russia of our friend - International School Meals Expert, WFP Brazil Centre of Excellence against hunger director and Member of the GCNF Board of Directors, Daniel Balaban.

On February 18 Daniel Balaban visited the canteens of Yaroslavl schools, the Combine of social nutrition, and will talk with children, parents and the the city mayor on school meals organization in the region.

Why Yaroslavl region?
In May last year, our Institute signed a cooperation agreement with the Mayor of Yaroslavl as part of the Interregional Conference "School Meals: Control, Quality, Accessibility." The decisions made at the conference became the basis for ongoing joint work on the school meals system development in the region.

It is also expected that Mr. Balaban will get acquainted with the school meals organization in one of the schools in Rostov the Great. His working trip to Russia Mr. Balaban will complete by visiting school canteens in Moscow.
