Starting from January 1, 2027, funding for school meals in Kyrgyzstan will be increased. The allocation will rise to 40 som per student daily.
This decision was made by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov.
Currently, the national budget provides 14 som per child daily for the provision of meals for students in grades 1–4. The planned increase will make school breakfasts and lunches more diverse and nutritious. The menu will include a greater variety of meat and fish dishes, dairy products, vegetables, and fruits, ensuring a more balanced intake of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates.
For parents, this is an important development, since high-quality nutrition helps children maintain the energy they need for studying, playing, and developing.
In addition, a well-balanced diet supports healthy growth, strengthens the immune system, and helps build positive eating habits.
