The regular Interdepartmental Coordination Council on school feeding was carried out in Tajikistan

Today the first in this year Interdepartmental Coordination Council on school feeding was carried out at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Since 2018 in the Khatlon region, the city of Rogun and districts of the Rasht area the implementation of the Action Plan of Programme of Pilot Projects for the development of school feeding in the Republic of Tajikistan began.

At the moment, 39 school canteens have already been repaired and equipped with modern equipment. Now they successfully feed the students with hot meals. Only 11 schools more are need to be repaired and re-equipped.

The first thing the participants discussed at the session was the problems occured during repair works at school canteens. The Chairman of the Council, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Saida Umarzoda commissioned to prepare a detailed report of the Plan implementation, in order to submit it to the Government of the Republic for consideration.

SIFI representative in Tajikistan, Suhrob Babadjanov told the participants about the results of the trainings held in March of this year for the pilot schools cooks of the Khatlon region and the presentation of a new balanced menu.

During the training, cooks achieved certain success and improved their knowledge and skills in school feeding. At the same time, the trainings helped to identify shortcomings in the professional qualifications of cooks. On the trainings results our specialists have developed a number of recommendations for accounting by local authorities and school administrations. The session participants agreed with the proposals and promised to pass the information along to representatives of all the pilot regions hukumats.
