SIFI, Kyrgyz Education Ministry sign school feeding cooperation agreement

The Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI), which acts as the CIS Basic Organization for School Feeding, and the Ministry of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic have signed a formal cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening Kyrgyzstan’s school feeding system.

The agreement was signed by Vladimir Chernigov, President of SIFI, and Mukhtarbek Baimurzaev, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the 2nd International CIS Forum on School Feeding.

Under the partnership, the two sides will work together across several key areas, including:

  • Updating the legal and regulatory framework, including nutritional standards;
  • Introducing modern technologies;
  • Training staff, including cooks and workers engaged in providing school meals;
  • Upgrading school canteens and kitchen facilities;
  • Supporting the development of local food production;
  • Adopting international best practices.
