Since 2010, the Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI) has been developing and implementing national school feeding programs in eight countries, providing technical support for UN World Food Programme (WFP) development projects.
Armenia:
Ensuring students receive balanced meals while supporting the implementation of the National School Feeding Programme.
Tajikistan:
Implementing the School Feeding Development Programme to make healthy food accessible nationwide.
Tunisia:
Developing a sustainable school feeding strategy and facilitating knowledge transfer for its implementation.
Morocco:
Improving the cost-efficiency of the National School Feeding Programme.
Nicaragua:
Creating a sustainable school feeding system that improves children’s health and supports local farmers.
Enhancing the sustainability of the National School Feeding Programme, including a pilot project to establish mini-bakeries.
Jordan:
Supporting the enhancement of the National School Feeding Programme to provide all primary and middle school students with balanced, diverse, and delicious meals.

Since 2016, the Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI) has been collaborating with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to implement pilot projects aimed at boosting the sustainability of school feeding initiatives in three countries.
Our approach to these projects draws on extensive work experience in these countries, enabling us to tailor initiatives that complement ongoing efforts by national governments and the UN World Food Programme (WFP). This synergy ensures the creation of impactful and sustainable solutions.

Armenia:
Installed three types of greenhouses in three pilot schools, providing fresh vegetables and herbs to improve the nutritional value of school meals.
Tajikistan:
Installed 22 unheated greenhouses with drip irrigation systems in 20 schools, diversifying school menus with fresh, organic produce.
Established a Logistics Center to supply school canteens with high-quality, fresh, and organic products directly from local farmers.

Since 2022, SIFI has been working with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) on the Livestock and Pasture Development project, which includes a component to improve school feeding in rural areas of Tajikistan.
